Cezanne's still life pictures are my favorite. His color sensibility never disappoints, and I feel like when he first painted these images people were probably confused by the spatial relationships between objects. How is that bowl of cherries not falling off the table? And that pitcher behind the cherries just morphs into the lip of the bowl. He makes it work in a very composed kind of way.
